Three Quick Tips for Supply Managers to Get Your Supply Chain Back on Track

By Shawn Mahon | March 12, 2022 | 4 min read

Prioritization workspace for choosing which supply chain risks and sourcing actions need attention first.

Demand in the semiconductor industry has never been stronger and manufacturers are still struggling to catch up. Here are three tips to remove risk from your supply chain.

1. Share your forecast with your vendors

When you share your forecast, you give visibility into prediction models of how your supply is going to be consumed. This gives confidence to the partner that the channel will be running optimally.

2. Set time aside to explore your supply chain

Know whom you are buying from and how your components are sourced. The more time you commit to knowing the ins and outs, the more likely you are to identify potential bottlenecks.

3. Be honest about your expectations when you can receive supply

Manufacturers are facing raw material shortages and physics problems pushing lead times as far out as 96 weeks. Respect lead times to give manufacturers enough time to source materials and capacity.
